Official Title: Legal Administrative Assistant
Unofficial Title: The Rookie (with Rockstar Potential!)
Sophia is our newest team member, bringing energy, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping clients find peace of mind. As a fourth-year UCSB student studying Political Science and English Literature, she’s soaking up everything she can learn about estate planning and elder law while supporting our attorneys and clients every day.
Her professional background speaks to someone who thrives in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments. She spent two years as a Financial Operations Administrative Assistant for the Associated Students of UCSB and served as a Congressional Intern for a House of Representatives member, which are experiences that taught her how to stay sharp, organized, and focused on people’s needs.
What Sophia loves most about this work is the outreach and education side of estate planning. One of her favorite memories so far was working at the Senior Expo, where she got to meet community members, share the value of estate planning, and then see those same people through the entire process at the firm. “The personal aspect of this role is the most gratifying,” she says. “I see the impacts of our work in providing people with peace of mind.”
She’s also inspired daily by the attorneys she works alongside, learning from their knowledge, experience, work ethic, and confidence as she builds her own expertise.
When she’s not in the office or studying, Sophia’s probably playing guitar or diving into great literature. She grew up going to classic rock concerts with her family—The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, even Kenny Loggins right here in Santa Barbara. And her love of English literature runs deep; she believes reading great works “substantially contributes to my understanding and enjoyment of the human experience.” A recent favorite? To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf.
(That's what really matters!)
